Hey, I used this in a game jam recently and thought I would share the game with you. I also listed you on the game page. Thanks for making such amazing art. https://dead-internet-dev.itch.io/chronotaur

Hey! Just played it, it was great! Had a lot of fun spamming the dash attack exploding those lil suckers away.

Also felt really silly once I realized I could break the barrels for potions.

Thanks for sharing, cheers!

Oh this is awesome!

I have a question that may be silly: I want to use this typo of assets in my own tabletop games as visual props and so… what type of app/programs I should use to compose with them?

Hey, thanks! No silly questions don't worry.

If I'm understanding correctly, you want to print these for your tabletop games right? I think that's awesome!

As for what app or program to use, do you mean to set them up for printing or to use the assets to make scenes for your games? If the latter, then I'm not sure what the best answer would be.

For making the mockups shown here (and the assets) I used Aseprite, which is a pixelart program with a cost of 20 USD. It has a tileset mode that is really awesome for making tiles and mockups really, but I think unless you're going to take up pixelarting then it's probably not the most accesible solution to your question.

Another program you might want to try (and one I've used for more than a decade myself) is GIMP. It's free but it's not really set up for tiling or pixelart from the get go, it'll be a bit tedious if I'm honest (compared to Aseprite or other programs dedicated to tiling).

Anyway, apologies if I didn't get your question right! Cheers

Hey, thanks fopr the swift replies and the explanation.

So Ideally I would like to produce scenes and maps for my players. I don’t intend to print them ans most if not all of my games are online but yeah.

I can see gimp and similar apps working for this and yeah, I anticipated that it would be tedious. Are there other game-making or art-making engines I could use besides those? Having options is not a bad idea :D

Anyways, thanks again for the time, I appreciate it, and once I have something down I’ll definitely drop you an image or two :)

Oh I see. Well, for making scenes and maps through art programs I could recommend checking this pixelart software list curated by Lospec.

As for game-making engines or so, that's out of my field so I couldn't really provide you proper info on that matter. Perhaps check out Godot? Here's a list of resources from the Gamedev subreddit wiki. It covers several areas but including game engines.

I'm looking forward to anything you might make with these, cheers!

THANK YOU!

Time for some research now :)

Essentially I runa bunch of science fantasy games and this 1-bit or otherwise pixelart visuals are just… right there, you know?

Again, I really appreciate the support!

this is the type of asset that you could easily base a whole game off of. great work, great style

Thank you! Appreciate it, also I wanted to say that the way you give perspective to your art is awesome and makes me want to do some like that as well! Cheers

Hi! Great work. Character detail is impressive :)

It would be a great addition if you provide character animations like: walk cycles, attack and die animations. Some traps would be good either.

Well done.

Hey, appreciate your kind words!

Regarding character animations, at the current time I'm more focused towards continuing to expand on the kit series and so doing just one animation makes that possible as opposed to having to create multiple for each kit every time. I would slow down considerably I think.

However, I do intend to eventually add more animations. As for the traps, yes absolutely. I've been planning an update to the Doomgeon and I'm adding some, so if you have some suggestions let me know!

Cheers!

This is amazing would love to see more characters but this is awesome! I am not using it at the moment but still very cool so I wanted to write and let you know

Thank you very much for your words Yuneek! Appreciate it.

Regarding characters, it is my intention to add more. I'm thinking of more forest dwellers and critters some with pointy ears and others with horned heads.

I'm also planning the next kit already: Doomdunes.

SICK DUDE!

I am thinking maybe some heroes too and more people NPC etc

or maybe some creatures similar to the game Minit but this doesn't have the same feel so also maybe not, really you know what you are doing with the direction but those are some ideas

Maybe characters that look like Earthbound characters could work as well I don't know but you can really take it wherever you want

Wow it looks realy good ! I love your art style

I'm making a (very) small roguelike game with your Doomgeon Kit. Now I have no excuses, I have to make a 2nd floor lol

Oh thanks for your kind words.

That’s awesome! I hope you have found the assets easy to use. Any feedback is greatly appreciated as well. Cheers!

I enjoyed working with your assets, I think they're great to work with ! Here is some of the things that, I think, could be a great addition in the future :

• Some attack animations sprites :)

• Maybe some characters animation could be a good addition too (like attack or walk animation)

• It could be great to add outside corners (as shown on the screenshot)

I'm looking foward your next works, have a nice day !

Thank you for the feedback Laby! I’ll take it into consideration for updates and expansions. Cheers!
